Prescott Valley Public Library – New Event – Creative Writing-Mash Ups, August 7th, 2024, Pre-registration required – Limited Seating
Join us this month while we explore mash-ups. A mash-up is taking two different writing genres and styles and mashing them together. As readers we love to put everything into genres and categories, so we know what we are getting when we pick a book. But we also crave the new, original, and exciting. We want the familiar but are drawn to the unknown. With mash-ups you have the opportunity to explore different styles and add a fresh twist to a story that may have gone a bit stale. One of the quickest ways to overcome a writing slump is with a mash-up. In class we will perform written exercises to create new content. Join us on Wednesdays, August 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th, 2024, from 12-2 pm to create your very own mash-ups. Registration is for a 4-week class series. Attendance is required for the first class. If you miss the first class, you will be removed from the class but are welcome to register for the next class series. 1st class: Wednesday, August 7th, 2024 Class will meet on Wednesdays, August 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th, 2024.
