Gardeners throughout the Central Highlands rallied to support a new community garden in Chino Valley. B Organic Farm(s) has been growing years of fresh produce for local food, but 2023 will be different. Through the volunteer efforts of Master Gardeners and the Make 100 Healthy foundation, they created a garden education center that transforms the farm into a garden training center for anyone who wishes to improve. Students learn the latest growing techniques from local masters, and the increase in fresh organic food helps local food banks even more. 'Gardeners of Destiny' is the name for this year's training program open to local individuals and groups. Already Master Gardeners, Prescott Lakes Garden Club, and Trinity Christian School have donated energy and time to clean the greenhouses, organize irrigation and start this year's gardener. Local companies rallied around the idea as sponsors with a Kickoff Victory Garden Gala hosted at the Club at Prescott Lakes on January 17th, 5-9pm. Funds go to this year's training program, seeds, soil, fertilizer, and plants for the 2023 growing season. All the significant company names rallied. Lamb Cadillac, Watters Garden Center, Pinnacle Bank, Olsens Grain, and more. Fresh Food stations, Auctions, and Music by Kenny James and Michel Somma make the gala kickoff fruitful and fun. "Through our sponsors, we have already awarded 24 scholarships to our next eight-week greenhouse course, with more to come," says John Murphy, the program's Gardeners Of Destiny director. Murphy continues, "This year's Victory Garden Gala rallies support of the community, raises seed money, and builds the curriculum that grows the full potential for this year's food giving."
