Gary Bennett, an Arizonan artist whose work is known nationwide, lives right here in Black Canyon City. Gary's Studio (19870 E. Green Valley Rd, Black Canyon City) is located near the Agua Fria River and will be open to the public from 10 AM to 4 PM on Thursday, June 27 through Sunday, June 30, 2019. Drop in during the day for an exclusive tour of Gary's work – all inspired by the water that flows footsteps from his creative space. On Saturday, June 29, from 2 PM to 4 PM, join Gary for an intimate conversation about what inspires him and an in depth discussion about his water-related body of work that includes the painting of the Agua Fria National Monument which was commissioned for the Monument's 10th Anniversary poster. Space is limited for the June 29 A Conversation with the Artist only; Reservations required. http://bit.ly/Artist_Conversation. The June Art Exhibit Water, Black Canyon City & Me event is the fourth of eight presentations in the year-long local activities that complements the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum on Main Street exhibit, “AZ Water/Ways,” hosted by the Black Canyon Heritage Park, December 14, 2019 through January 26, 2020 at the Cañon Elementary School in Black Canyon City.
