Workshop: Professional Boundaries & Wellness Lunch & Learn (Lunch Provided)
Often we do not think about the downstream effects of our actions or how others might view them. We may simply see a solution to a problem or a need without thinking it through.
Your good intentions are not always in the best interests of clients, employees, coworkers, or the organization.
Boundary violations are often clear-cut, with damaging results. Boundary crossings, however, can be blurry, requiring your professional judgment and perhaps the professional advice of others.
Learn how to assess situations to avoid crossings and violations: Are there any real or perceived issues? Can you reasonably do this for everyone? How will your action affect others? Will this action be seen as favoritism?
Practicing good professional boundaries is a step towards wellness and self-care. Wellness and self-care are vital to maintaining good health and a vibrant life. It’s a way of living that incorporates behaviors that help you to be refreshed, replenish your personal motivation, and grow as a person.
Wellness is an interactive process of becoming aware of and practicing healthy choices to create a more successful and balanced lifestyle. This lunch and learn workshop is a refreshing course for the New Year!
This workshop will be taught by Chris Hout and Christiana Cagnoni.
Chris Hout: With a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Human Relations, Chris is well versed in the human behavior. He is an adjunct faculty at Yavapai College and Northern Arizona University in Psychology, Social Work and Human Behavior programs. Not only has he taught, he has an extensive background in social services, counseling and community education.
Christiana Cagnoni: Christiana has 36 years of service and experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Medical Qigong in conjunction with Integrative and Complimentary Therapies. She offers hands on therapies, education, immersion programs and retreats. She is the co-founder of the certifying body A.O.B.T.A., Mid-west Shiatsu Center and the American School of Oriental Medicine. Christiana has developed and taught over 20 successful, personalized wellness programs. She has taught her programs for Dr. Andrew Weil’s medical professional conferences, Chicago’s C-100 organization, National Insurance Companies, Chicago Board of Trade personnel, several colleges and collaborated with local recovery centers. She holds a Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine & Medical Qigong, Masters in Shiatsu/ANMA therapy, and is certified in Nutritional counseling and Craniosacral therapy levels 1 & 2.
